CLEAN AIR DAY 20 JUNE 2019
Air pollution affects us from our first breath to our last and harms the health of millions. But there are lots of simple steps we can take to improve air quality and look after our own and other people’s health.
Clean Air Day is the UK’s biggest air pollution campaign. It’s a chance to find out more about air pollution, share information, and do something to make the air cleaner and healthier for everyone.
Clean Air Day is coordinated by environment charity Global Action Plan and supported by more than 200 organisations, including Public Health England, British Heart Foundation, British Cycling, Royal College of Physicians, DEFRA, UNICEF, Great Ormond Street Hospital and many NHS trusts and local authorities.
HOW IT WORKS

We spend over 90% of our time indoors
81% of people are at risk of respiratory or dermatological conditions due to their home air
Indoor air can be up to 50 times more polluted than outside air
54% of people have experienced mould or condensation in their home
